The Fire Inspectors Code of Ethics serves as a guiding set of principles for all who serve in the fire service. It emphasizes integrity, honesty, loyalty, compassion, and courage, reminding firefighters of their duty to uphold public trust. By maintaining these values, fire service professionals commit to delivering selfless, respectful, and honorable service to their communities.

Created around 1772 BC, the Code of Hammurabi is one of the oldest known sets of laws from ancient Mesopotamia. Established by King Hammurabi of Babylon, the code contains 282 laws engraved on stone and clay tablets. It features scaled punishments—such as “an eye for an eye”—based on social status, setting a foundational precedent for justice systems throughout history.
